Of course you probably will not want to get them only the minimum insurance amount, but this will depend on the car that they are driving. In fact, this is another point to make and if they are yet to get a car, or you are yet to get one for them, then it is certainly a good idea to get in touch with some insurers, perhaps your own company to find out which sorts of cars are best suited to teenagers from their own point of view.
Actually adding them onto your own policy is another thing that you could try. If you do this you will demonstrate loyalty to any insurer that you are already with and as such they will offer discounts. In addition to this, having a teen linked to their parents policy goes a long way towards demonstrating that they are more likely to be safety conscious out on the road.
